Footage is from FW Murnau's silent film Nosferatu (1922). I re-sequenced and manipulated scenes from the original film to not only synch with the song but to create an entirely new story. The narrative of the original film is fascinating but I really wanted to turn the film into something a little more snarky and inverted in it's notion of redemption. To overcome obsession through destroying the object's husband and then snub her when she finally succumbs to you is as much justice as Nosferatu can attain from his place in the beauty/ugly spectrum. I also wanted to comment on the nature of vampiric fetishism and how certain implications of sexual mutability are the subconscious root of the romanticized vampire.
